Class Description

Lift, tone, and tighten your entire body by performing exercises designed to build strength using body weight, hand weights, and resistance bands. A class that’s for EVERYONE - whether you’re just beginning or have already incorporated strength into your weekly routine. Benefits of strength training include increased bone density, metabolism, muscle tone, and of course, feeling great. Bring a towel, water bottle, and mat.

Benefits

Strength. This class works virtually every major muscle group in your body. Through strength training, you’ll increase muscle mass and tone while also elevating your metabolism - one of the keys to maintaining a healthy body weight.

Endurance. By setting high rep counts with less weight, you’ll train your muscles to endure longer periods of work. With this style of strength training, you’ll also be less susceptible to injury compared to lifting heavy.

Cardio. While this class is designed to build strength, you’ll also elevate your heart rate and reap the benefits of moderate intensity cardio work - staying solidly in the so-called heart rate orange zone.


Tips for Beginners

Less for more. 3, 5, or 8 lbs. doesn’t seem like much - until you get into class! Start with as little weight as possible and focus on completing each set of reps with the best form you can manage.

Build over time. The sky is the limit in terms of how much weight you use with time and training. While you may start at 3 lbs., you might find 5, 8, or more to be more your style over time.

Take a time out. This class will burn up your muscles with high repetition, so when you need a time out, take one! Water breaks are always a great idea.
