You’re weekend has been designed so that you can experience the wonders the Gorge has to offer while taking all the guess work out of your trip. WE TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING! Your delicious local food, accomodations, guided hikes, and more.

NOTE | If you have joined us on previous adventures, Saturday’s hike will be a first - visiting up to 10 natural sandstone arches across 3-5 miles on private property. This is the largest collection of arches on private property in Kentucky and likely of anywhere in the Eastern U.S. We will be guided by Leave No Trace Adventures who has access to the property. The hiking will be somewhat strenuous at times, but we will be hiking at a slow pace with frequent stops to enjoy the scenery.
Summertime in Red River Gorge is filled with fun! We’ll be mixing some time on the trails, on the water, and on our mats making the most of what the outdoors has to offer. Join us at our happiest place for an active weekend and all the good times!

Weekend Itinerary
We will finalize the itinerary the week of the event based on weather, trail conditions, and group dynamics. That said, here’s what we like to do in summertime at Red River Gorge - and keep in mind that it’s your vacation, so everything is optional:

What’s Included
Basically, you just need to show up, and hike, hang out - we’ll take care of the rest!
Lodging. Our home away from home is at BedRock RRG - a clean, modern, inviting lodge, and a real gem in the Commonwealth. Sitting on a nice piece of property just up the road from Muir Valley, BedRock has a cozy, comfortable feel with a large community space and lots of subtle touches. There is a large fire pit and each room has its own exit to the outside. Let’s not forget the HOT TUB and SAUNA!
Meals. We’ll provide all meals over the course of the weekend. We’ve got you covered if you eat meat, only eat veggies, vegan or gluten free. We also cater in some local restaurants for portions of the weekend to support them and give you the local experience. We’ll start each morning with hot breakfasts before our hikes. For lunch we provide all the items for you to pack your own trail lunch which typically includes jerky, trail bars, PB&J, fruit, etc.
Hikes. We’ll plan a number of hikes for the weekend that you can enjoy with the group, or you can choose to go off on your own to someplace new:-)
Paddling. We will take advantage of the season by enjoying some summer sun on Saturday afternoon, so be sure to pack a bathing suit!
Yoga. We’ll do a little yoga over the weekend to loosen up after hiking and know that the focus will be on getting a good stretch and developing a smooth, relaxed vibe.
Post-Hike Chillaxing. So long as it's not raining, we’ll be spending a good bit of time around the fire. With sunset coming early, we’ll make our own light with a roaring campfire:-) Should Mother Nature have other plans, we’ll be indoors enjoying a little more yoga, shuffleboard, and some good conversation.
BYOB. We wouldn’t dare presume whether you’re a fine wine, Bud Light, or bourbon kind of hiker, so please bring your own libations;-)
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it the same price with one or two people in a room?
Yes. The cost of a private room is the same for one person or two, you are booking the room. You can bring a guest with you, and SPLIT the cost. When you book, just one of you will reserve the room. If you want to fly solo, the cost remains the same. Please note no more than two per room are allowed.
What is the cancellation/refund policy for this trip?
With a small group event like this, we do not offer refunds. That said, if you find that you can’t make it, and you have someone to take your spot send them as a replacement. If we’re able to get your spot filled, you will receive a refund for the amount paid less a $200 processing fee.
Are children allowed to participate?
No. This is an adults only experience and all participants must be at least 21 years of age.
How difficult will the hiking be?
The hikes we have planned are a highlight reel of Red River Gorge and require a solid effort. This won’t be soul crushing backpacking in the deep woods, but it’s also not a series of drive-up hikes from a tour bus.
What if the weather sucks?
Hiking, of course, is weather dependent. We’ll hike rain or shine unless severe weather is expected in the area. If lightning, high winds, or tornado weather is in the forecast, we’ll stay safe at BedRock.
Will there be bathrooms and showers?
Yes. BedRock is super clean and very modern - complete with bathrooms and showers. There are three showers each in the men’s and women’s bathrooms.
What if I have to poop on a hike?
Mike will show you how to dig a cathole, employ a yogi squat, and bury your treasure! If you’re nice, he’ll show you to a nice tree to hug:-) There is no shame among hikers!
